welcome to our
‘being me’
gallery space!
Here you’ll find a growing collection of brilliant things made by autistic and neurodivergent people in our Being Me community.
We made a zine!
In Spring 2025, we ran a short 'Digital Being Me' project, where some of our autistic and neurodivergent artists who facilitated previous 'Being Me Clubs' worked alongside two magnificent digital artists. This collaboration showed us new ways to play creatively with digital tools in a 'Being Me' style space.
Our theme for our project was exploring the prompt 'what is your ideal space?'. We've made this zine to invite anyone to create their own room-world, or to think about what their ideal space would be like.
This 16 page zine is made up of contributions from some of our autistic Being Me staff team members, who have thought about sensory joy, peaceful places, and spaces where they feel they can be themselves. Maybe this might prompt your own responses, which might be similar or different to these. Also included in the zine is a toolbox from our digital artists, inviting you to explore digital creative tools at home!
Fancy a zine in the post?
Simply head to our page on People’s Fundraising, make a donation of £1 (or more if you fancy) and we’ll send over a copy to you in one of our beautiful purple envelopes.

What makes you feel joyful, buzzy or calm? This is what our participants were invited to think about as they designed their ideal space for their own way of being. Their ideal spaces were created in small cardboard boxes, which our digital artists then digitized to turn into our Being Me House!

Being Me will be landing in people’s homes in newspaper form in Autumn 2025. The newspaper is co-produced with our Being Me community and all of the content will be designed with and by autistic people - YAY!
The newspaper is in development and we are looking for autistic girls, young women and non-binary people who would like to get involved.
Being involved in The Newspaper could mean:
writing an article
making some artwork
designing a puzzle
joining The Newsroom (a hybrid space to be with other autistic young people to share ideas about the paper)
receiving a newspaper in the post
== the newsroom ==
We recently hosted our first ever Newsroom. The Newsroom gives young people the space to think about and develop their ideas with us about what should be in our newspaper. It’s our version of a Youth Trustee Board.
The Newsroom was, and will always be hosted in person, and online. This helps us to make sure we’re connecting with as many people as possible.
Below you’ll see the thoughts developed in our first Newsroom … watch this space to find out how these ideas look in our newspaper!
